I ordered the 6’ ring and 2” net topper. It was fairly easy to assemble myself, and I used zip ties and drilled holes to attach the hay net ring to the inside of the feeder. I also have a regular roundbale net from nagbags with 1.5” holes, which has held up to daily use for the last 2 years without a single hole. I do put the netted roundbale in a metal tombstone feeder so the horses aren’t standing on it/pawing at it. I am looking forward to being able to move the poly ring around the paddock easily instead of wrestling with the metal tombstone feeder. Love these products!

Got the ring and net combo. Got the 1.5” net and wish I had a bigger one is the only thing I have bad. I do believe the 2” would be a better fit for horses than the 1.5 but I hope it loosens up. The ring is great though. Went together easy and is light but not so light I’m afraid the wind will get it.

Once I got the hang of getting it together, it went easy enough.

First week using it so it seems good, hoping it will last a long time.

I purchased three of these hay rings with net toppers and have used them now for a month. In general they are terrific and make feeding round bales much more efficient and easy. And I have some thoughts/advice I would like to share:
1.) I assembled the rings by myself, but if you are not tall (with long arms) this is probably better done by two people. I have read reviews where people drilled new holes to make up for the fact that the rings are somewhat flexible and the holes don't always line up easily. I do not recommend that approach even if it means doing a lot of jiggling/shimmying the pieces together because once you have the bolts in loosely, you can then tighten everything up and they will cause the grooves to align exactly. Those grooves greatly increase the stability and sturdiness of the rings.
2.) Weaving the net topper onto the tubing is easier done if you let the tubing stretch out (It is initially rolled up to fit in the package with the net). I just opened it up and allowed the tube to sit around the newly completed ring overnight. Then it is in the right shape for going in the ring. I found that attaching the tube with velcro straps really made it more secure (some of my zip ties were too brittle in the cold weather we've been having).
3.) The ring is easily moved out to the pasture or grazing area by rolling it. The hardest part is tipping it up and then it will almost roll itself. This is where I give a big CAUTION: all of our horses were TERRIFIED of the ring. I had three ponies run through a fence to get away from it. Once I had arranged it over the new round bale, I caught one of the ponies and bribed him with lots of treats to approach the ring. When he realized there was hay there, he quickly settled down to eat and his buddies joined him. But I'm on the third bale with this ring now and they still get nervous when I tip it up to put it over a new bale.
4.) I was curious to see how the horses would adjust to net feeding since almost half our herd had not been fed with a net before. But I supplemented with some loose hay for about the first week, and they seemed to adjust without any issues. Also, it was interesting that especially the bigger horses will eat the hay down to the ground! Pretty cool! But my little Welsh ponies can't reach the hay it when it is down that far, so I either move the ring so they can finish the hay (usually just a day's worth), or I add the next round bale on top of the residual hay, so they can reach again.
5.) I love that the rings protect my young horses from catching little hooves in the nets or my shod horses from catching a shoe.
6.) I love that the bales are being eaten way more efficiently and the hay is staying palatable now that it isn't just being trampled and pooped and slept on!

All in all, I highly recommend these hay rings!!

I added an additional feeder to my farm last month and Linda went out of her way to help me avoid high shipping costs due to the postal strike.

We initially bought a poly ring round bale feeder last year to replace a conventional tombstone type feeder. It is so much easier to use and the horses seem to prefer it. The old feeder and the new poly feeder were side by side and the horses ate down the poly feeder first.
This year we bought another one. Our horses range from a 15hh Arab , 17hh+ draft crosses and Hanovarians to 18hh Shires. The 2” netting works for all of them.
Highly recommend the poly ring feeder.

We have used Nag Bags for years. I wish we had purchased the poly ring feeder sooner. No waste! Easy to flip over the bale! Horses no longer stand on the bag! Love love love it.

Takes a bit to put together and we were missing some bolts, washers and nuts! Need to drill holes for net and zap strap (not included) to the base. Ready to go out with a bale soon.

This poly ring set is a total game changer. It's a bigger upfront cost but it seriously saves SO much hay. The ring was super easy to put together and feels very robust... yet safe for the horses. I have no equipment at my place but I can roll a round bale into the pasture and put the ring right over it. My horses had zero issues
with using the ring (they've used small square NAG bags for years). My only regret is not buying this sooner.

Love everything about this hay feeder. Absolutely no waste whatsoever. Only thing is I would use two people to put together and it can be frustrating with one person.

This poly ring feeder is a great idea - it is so easy to flip and move. It works with a net or without. The nets are the best - I have several and just love their construction.
My only problem was the assembly. We did it in the house because it was so frigid outside but you need a big door to take it out. None of the holes lined up so after many attempts, we just clamped and drilled all of them and that worked. Next the fitting of the hose - we used a lot of the zip ties to get it into place and then realized that we actually needed them for securing the net into place, so we had to get more. There is a video which was helpful but also a bit misleading. We secured the net on the top rung and placed it all over a round bale - easy. But in hindsight, I will now secure the net in the bottom rung because there was a lot of netting that hung over the edge like a muffin top....at least for our size of round bale which is 5' across and 4' high. I was advised by Mandy to get the 6' ring and really appreciate that input because it's true - 5' would have been a tight struggle. Bottom line - I love this feeder and highly recommend it!

I think that with the Poly Ring Set I can come close to feed my horses a more natural way. They get little at a time but steadily. The water is far away so my horses get also some exercise when they go for a drink. The ring is sturdy, yet light enough for me to move around. I have got two rings now, with different size nets, so I have some options.

Recently I gave a negative review of the Poly Feeder System. I need to alter that review. I was using large green Bale Buddy Bags before ordering this feeder We put the ring together and net on ring in bottom and set it out with a soft core bale It was a disaster.. then put a hard core bale in the feeder and Voila!Found out from farmer friend that my soft core bales hadn't been done properly and were badly formed! My horses are now feeding well and my Cushings horse is losing weight because she can't eat as much My deepest apologies to Mandy and company if I caused harm. She reached out to me to solve this issue and I must agree with ALL the great reviews that made me buy this in
the first place!

This is a high quality product, with fast shipping and incredible customer service. We have used many nets in the past, and assumed that holes and tears were just par for the course.
Not this net! We have had it out for 2 weeks, and not one snag. We are using it with the poly ring which keeps everything contained.

This is the safest hay ring I've seen. With the extra benefit of being easy to use and adding the net to slow down the feeding, it's the best hay ring I've had. And I'm 75, so I've had several!
