What Does 1.5” W Mean?
Our 1.5" W (Wide) option is designed specifically for three-tie bale flakes. It offers an extra 18" of width compared to our standard 1.5" size — perfect if you prefer a wider loading area or have larger flakes.

The size of the net hole you choose depends on the type of animal you are feeding, its developmental stage, lifestyle, and what hay type you are providing. See our Net Guide for more information and our Hay Testing page.
general guide below:
1 inch: Ponies, miniature animals, and young mini goats and lambs will all do very well with 1-inch netting.
1.5 inch: This is our most popular size for equines, donkeys, mules, alpacas, goats, sheep, llamas, rabbits, and yes, even chickens!
2 inch: For larger breeds like drafts, warmbloods, working horses, young and older horses, and calves.
2.75 inch: For cattle and horses, when consumption is not an issue, just wanting to keep the hay in the feeder. The 2.75 is a great net, especially in colder climates. It can be used for older horses, growing, working & racehorses, and it works great for cattle. This net needs to be used in a feeder as its larger holes could be a hazard.

When introducing slow hay feeding hay nets, always provide loose hay along with the NAG Bag for the first week. Loose hay feedings assist your animal in learning how to "graze" from the nets properly, minimizes the chance of net damage, and prolong the life of your NAG Bag.
Remember, slow-feeding is only as good as the hay that’s being offered. Meeting the animal's needs is very important, and ensuring that you have the correct hay type will help ensure successful net feeding.

NAG Bags can be used with shod horses. However, the nets should be placed in a tub, feeder, hay ring, or hung out of the pawing range. We do like to see the net in a lower position, if possible for a more natural foraging position.

Both as a slow feeding bag while grooming or tacking up, a trailer bag and anytime I want to give him a little extra hay because we have a barn rule that loose hay has to be in a bag-I never knew how much I needed this upgrade! The toggle works great AND for when I want him to have a nose sized hole to eat from when trying to help him get a few extra calories as nights get colder since the entire barn already has hay nets on all the hay troughs and bales. The trailer size is a perfect addition to my other larger Nag Bags, especially when just wanting to feed a flake or two.
Durable, soft, easy to fill. Even my senior with worn front teeth can and does eat from it alongside his free choice non netted hay. Gives him a little bit of enrichment in his day!
So it may have taken my first super easy keeper to finally get me to be a slow feeder fan, but the difference in waste (basically, no waste,) the ease of cleaning stalls, and the savings in both hay and shavings is a game changer! Hay is no longer a fun thing to poop on, stomp on, and basically make a mess with.
I have many brands of haynets (dozens of them, actually), however I've always found Nag Bags to last the longest by far. I love the no-knot design as I believe more comfortable for the horse. However, I've recently tried the Ezee Feed System and ITS FANTASTIC!!! No more filling, tying and clipping up haynets. This is my 2nd set of trailer size nag bags. I purchased 2 more because I can prefill them if I need someone else to feed for 2 days. I use them in my stall and feeder. These bags are super sturdy and have a stopper to secure the bags closed. The cord on them is also sturdy and flexible. My mare has not been able to eat through these bags. I've been using them for a year and they are still in great shape. I got the 1" , my mare is a chow hound.

We needed smaller hay bags with large openings for our draft horses feed boxes while in town on tours. The Trailer Bags with the 2.75" holes are perfect. Reduces the mess and keeps the hay in the box where it belongs. As well as slows down their feed rate. They like to pull out hay and deposit it on the road. Can't do that now. Great solution.

We have been using your nag bags for around 10 years, for our 28 year old mare. There is less wasted feed, and a great boredom buster as she is by herself. Wide opening so easy to load, no knots, so soft on her mouth. Really like them for our old girl.

I have 4 of these bags, the first ones I bought about 5 yrs ago are still being used, nothing wrong with them, I just bought another, I fill these up and hang them different places in , the large corral, keeps my horse busy all day , and do the same thing for night. Sure saves on boredom . Nothing better than these bags.
